At approx 815pm Dartmouth Fire District 1 was toned out for a structure fire at 2 Annawan St in the gated community of Nonquit. Enroute to the fire the first run engine could see the bright orange glow in the sky. The first arriving officer called a working fire reporting a fully involved structure with a brush fire extending towards the beach. Companies began setting up a deck gun, ladder pipe, and multiple large lines. A second alarm was called immediatly, bringing Dartmouth district 2, district 3, and New Bedford Fire dept. Within minutes of first arriving companies the roof and walls began to collapse. Fire crews were on scene throughout the night, as the collapsed house made it tough to get all the pockets of fire. The house was valued at 3.5 million dollars and is a total loss. State Fire Marshal was called to investigate the fire. The fire remains under investigation.
