Mount Pleasant Street Firehouse celebrates it's 100th Year Anniversary!!

The Mount Pleasant Avenue Fire Station will be celebrating it's 100th anniversary on December 31, 2004. The Station was commissioned to open by General Order of the Fire Chief (as horse drawn wooden ladder truck #9) on December 31, 1904. The station now houses Engine Company 15, known as the Highlanders, and the on duty Fire Investigator, Car 56. With all of the importance by the historical preservation commissions, it is worth note that this building has been open and operating as a fire station in its original neighborhood for 100 years.
