2nd Alarm on Arrival PROVIDENCE - While companies were heading for a reported still box on Gordon Avenue on November 14, Engine 14 and other companies were dispatch to a report of a residential fire. Upon arrival at 531 Union Avenue, responders were faced with a 3-story, wood-frame (located in the Silverlake section of the city) fully involved. Seeing the situation as Engine 14 crested the hill upon approach to the address the second alarm was immediately requested. Companies stretched protection lines to cover two exposures, advancing lines on both exposures and keeping the fire from spreading down the block. The fire alarm office was recieving numerous calls on this fire and the smoke plume could be seen from the downtown area. A collaspe of the porches had chiefs pulling the members from the building and switching to exterior operations. The fire was brought under control in about two hours. A total of six members were transported to area hospitals for minor injuries suffered while fighting the blaze.

2nd ALARM PROVIDENCE - A former industrial mill located on West River Street was the scene of a quick-spreading fire during the afternoon of November 2. Companies responded for a report of a fire in the roof of the building, which was undergoing renovation. Workers laying tar reported smoke coming from the roofing materials and when apparatus arrived they had heavy smoke showing. Companies stretched lines over ladders to reach the effected areas. The adjacent attached buildings were evacuated for precautions and a second alarm request was transmitted by Division 3. The fire was brought under control in about an hour. Photos by Car-4

3rd Alarm Pawtucket, RI Companies where called to St. Georges Church at 50 Main St in Pawtucket RI on a report of fire under the stage.  The fire made it into the walls and spread to the 116 year old chapel completely destroying it before spreading to the Hall and destroying it as well.  Companies from Central Falls, Providence, East Providence and Lincoln responded to the scene but where unable to save the historical building.
W/F COVENTRY, RI - An occupied 1.5-story dwelling located on Brentwood Drive in the Washington District of Coventry, RI, was the scene of a fire that extended from a fireplace and into the walls of the structure on November 2.
Upon arrival, Engine 11 had smoke showing on the first floor, and after investigating, found that the fire had progressed into the second floor walls.
Companies opened the walls from the exterior and lines were stretched to the second floor. Companies knocked down the advancing fire and brought the fire under control in about an hour.

2nd ALARM PROVIDENCE,RI - The members of Special Hazards knew they had work cut out for them when they pulled from their quarters on Washington Street, in response to a report of a working structure fire; for smoke could be seen in the sky and dispatch was receiving numerous calls on this large, "balloon-frame", 3-story apartment building on Federal Hills Vinton Street. Upon arrival, companies had fire showing from the third floor on sides 2 and 3, and heavy smoke poured forth from the irregular shaped roof. Ladder 6 set up on Penn Street and knocked down the heavy fire with its ladder pipe, while companies made the third floor to search for a reported missing occupant. Searches were negative; and firefighters wound up chasing the fire in the walls for a few hours before bringing the fire under control. Photos by Car-4

WEST WARWICK - The dispatch for a report of a fire located in the vicinity of 1559 Main Street had companies searching for the cause of the visible smoke. Arriving companies had smoke in the area, but due to a dense stand of trees and a 9-1-1 call lacking definitive information a fire at the Maple Gardens Apartment complex had a good head start.

CENTRAL FALLS - The members of the Central Falls Fire Department were dispatched to a commercial building at 674 Dexter Street in the downtown area of a small but very active community. On arrival, CFFD, a small career department, had heavy smoke and fire showing from a turn-of-the-century, wood-frame, commercial building. The fire had gained control of the entire first floor and was starting to makes its way onto the flattop roof area.
The arriving companies made an aggressive attack and knocked down the heavy fire, and had the fire under control within 40 minutes.

PAWTUCKET - Friday evening turned out to be a busy night for the "Jakes" in Pawtucket as three fires in the city kept companies moving all night.

A "3-decker" at 934 Mineral Spring Avenue began the night as Engine 5 arrived and reported a well-involved dwelling. Engine 5's crew made a great knock down and crews were back in service in about 90 minutes.

The second fire was at 54 Melrose Avenue. This fire sent one firefighter and a fire victim with burns to the trauma center.

The third fire was located at the corner of Francis Street and Columbia Avenue. Engine 5 again being firstdue had fire traveling up the outside. Companies made quick work of this previous fire building.

SWANSEA, Massachusetts - Around 1:00am firefighters from the Swansea Fire Department was dispatched for a reported building fire on Milford Rd.. Crews arrived on scene to find a basement fire spreading rapidly up the rear of the house. Crews quickly scrambled to try and contain the blaze. An hour into the fire it appeared that firefighters were gaining an upper hand, when they realized it had traveled up into the walls and was now coming through the roof.
The fire was finally placed under control around 3:15am. Firefighters were called from Warren, RI to help battle this tricky blaze. Also, the Canteen Unit from Providence, RI was called to the scene.

Manchester Ct - The members from the 8th District struck the 2nd alarm for a fire at this occupied apartment complex on Green Rd.
2nd Alarm Willimantic Ct - This vacant 2 story 25X50 warehouse located on Moulton Ct was heavly damaged by this late afternoon fire. Companies on arrival reported a fire in the rear of the building that had spread to the attic.
COVENTRY, RI - Members from Coventry Fire District (Washington, Tiogue and Hopkins Hill stations) were dispatched to an occupied, one-story, ranch-style dwelling at 58 Rawinson Drive, in the Oak Haven section of town.

April 10, 2005 2nd Alarm Tiverton, RI Walnut @ Plymouth Streets Fire was in a 2.5sty wdfm omd. Heavy fire side 3 level 1 and extended to and thru the roof. Several lines operated which took about 2 hours to bring under control. M/A from Portsmouth,RI and Fall River, MA operated at the fire.

April 10, 2005 2nd Alarm Providence, RI Harris Av & Kinsley Fire was in the old farmers market, a 2 story concrete, 75 X 1000 building that has had several fires in it over the last few years. 8 Engines, 5 Ladders, Special Hazards, 2 ALS Units, 1 BC, And 1 DAC were utilized in the 1 hour fire. Forcible entry was the big battle as the building has been sealed up tight for quite some time.

March 22, 2005 The members from East Bridgewater fire department responded to this 2 1/2 sty occupied woodframe dwelling on Pleasent St around 9:30am for a reported fire in the kitchen. On arrival the companies found a well involved building and a fast moving fire in this older dwelling. Companies had to relay pump from a hydrant to support the master streams. This fire heavly damaged the dwelling and no injuries were reported. the fire was brought under control around 11:30am. companies remained on the scene for most of the afternoon. Photos by Car-4

March 17, 2005 Providence, RI Fire Department responded to this occupied 12 unit apartment building at 48 Parkis St. at around 1am this morning. On arrival members had a heavy smoke condition on floor 1 and were notified of an occupant missing in the rear apartment. Members removed 1 unconscious male and treated 1 victim for smoke inhalation at this fire. The fire was quickly knocked down and companies were tied up for about 1 ½ hours. Photos by Car-4

Upon entering the apartment, Ladder 15 found 1 person unconscious and another with a gun shot wound. They were removed from the apartment and treated by Boston EMS. One later died at the hospital. February 2, 2005 Providence, RI Fireighters were stilled out to 151 Valley St for a report of a dwelling fire. Engine 14 reported a 2.5sty wdfm occupied dwelling w/ heavy fire n the #2flr. January 11, 2005 3rd Alarm Uxbridge, MA 452 River Rd. Heavy fire conditions in a 2.5sty wdfm occupied dwelling. Companies were forced from the interior due to flashover. Mutual aid from surrounding Massachusetts and Rhode Island Fire Departments answered this call.

January 2005 2nd Alarm on arrival Woonsocket, RI 178 South Main St @ Front St. Engine 1 was toned out for alarms sounding and was confronted w/ heavy fire on the #3flr of a 6 family 3sty wdfm occupied dwelling. Co's fought an aggressive interior attack and held the fire to the third floor w/ minor extension to the loft. A 3rd Alarm was struck due to weather and frigid temperatures. Photos by C316

Lincoln Fire and Rescue responded to 1791 Old Louisquisett Pike on January 16, 2005 for a reported kitchen fire. Eng-31 was on scene in 2 minutes w/ smoke showing from the front door. A candle left burning on the stove broke, ignited the hot wax which extended to the contents of the room. The fire did extended into the walls on the #2flr above the fire. The Providence F.D. responded to this occupied house fire in the Manton section of the city at 20 Joslin St on Sunday January 16, 2005. Engine 14 had heavy fire on side 1 extending to the loft on arrival. Co's made an initial attack but were pulled out when conditions deteriorated. 6 Engines, 3 Ladders, Special Hazards, and 2 ALS rescues were used to control the blaze.
The fire was under control in about 2hrs

On New Years eve December 31, 2004, Lincoln Fire Dispatched a full assignment to 31 Arnold St for smoke from the dwelling. Upon Arrival Rescue 4 had smoke showing from the #2flr of a 2.5sty wdfm 30x50 occupied dwelling. The fire was due a non-watered Christmas tree left on. Heavy fire damage was sustained to the #2flr.
